Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, also known as sulphur, bitter salt, diarrhea salt, and epsom salt, has a chemical formula of MgSO4•7H2O). It is a white or colorless needle-like or oblique columnar crystal, odorless, cool and slightly bitter. It is decomposed by heat and gradually removes the crystal water and becomes anhydrous magnesium sulfate. Mainly used in the manufacture of fertilizers, leather making, printing and dyeing, catalysts, papermaking, plastics, porcelain, paints, matches, explosives and fireproof materials. It can be used for printing and dyeing thin cotton cloth and silk, as a weighting agent for cotton silk and as a filler for kapok products. , Used in medicine as Epsom salt.
