It is white crystal, tasteless, slightly bitter and hygroscopic. Soluble in hot water; hot alcohol; pyridine; soluble in hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid without decomposition, also soluble in aqueous sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide, insoluble in cold alcohol; ether; acetone; benzene and chloroform. Moderately toxic and irritating.

Application
 | Water treatment, swimming pool cleaning, disinfection organic synthesis raw materials for the synthesis of chlorinated derivatives, trichloroisocyanuric acid; dichloroisocyanuric acid sodium or potassium; for the synthesis of cyanuric acid formaldehyde resin; epoxy resin; antioxidants; coatings; adhesives; pesticides and herbicides; metal cyanide corrosion inhibitors; polymer materials modifiers; for the production of halogenated trihydroxazine. Depolymerization occurs when heated to form cyanuric acid. It reacts with phosphorus pentachloride to produce cyanogen chloride. Cyanuric acid can be digested by ruminants and is therefore widely added to animal feed. the maximum level specified by FDA is cyanuric acid + urea <30%.
