Efficacy of lutein

Lutein is mainly to protect vision, mainly reflected in two aspects
1. The optic nerve is not renewable and vulnerable to harmful free radicals. The antioxidant effect of lutein can inhibit the formation of harmful free radicals.
2. The wavelength of blue visible light is close to that of ultraviolet light. It is the most harmful light that can reach the retina. Before reaching the sensitive cells on the retina, light passes through the highest concentration area of lutein, which can filter a large amount of blue light.
Health function of lutein
Lutein is a common natural pigment, which is widely distributed in the eye tissue and retina. The highest concentration of macular area plays an important role in normal visual function.
The investigation shows that daily intake of 6-10mg lutein can effectively reduce the risk of eye diseases caused by increased oxidative stress with age. Many studies have found that the main mechanisms of lutein in alleviating visual fatigue are antioxidation and light barrier.
Lutein is also a strong antioxidant, which can scavenge all kinds of free radicals. It is also recognized as one of the strongest substances to scavenge singlet oxygen. Lutein can inhibit the oxidative damage of retinal macular tissue caused by many reasons to maintain normal vision.
