The difference between EDTA and disodium EDTA

Mar 06, 2021

1. The state is different at room temperature

EDTA is white powder under normal temperature and pressure, and disodium EDTA is white crystalline particle or powder.

2. The solubility is different in different solvents

EDTA is soluble in sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate and ammonia solution, soluble in boiling water, slightly soluble in cold water, insoluble in alcohol and general organic solvents. Disodium EDTA is soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol and ether.

3. The main uses are different

EDTA is used as detergent, blood anticoagulant, complexing agent and pH regulator in electroplating solution. Disodium EDTA is mainly used as complexing agent.
